This year, our Language Week at GSD International School Buitrago was all about New Orleans! From April 7th to 10th, students from 1st to 6th grade did fun activities to learn about this amazing city while speaking English.
Este año, nuestra Semana de las Lenguas en GSD International School Buitrago fue sobre Nueva Orleans. Del 7 al 10 de abril, los alumnos de 1º a 6º de Primaria hicieron actividades divertidas para aprender sobre esta ciudad tan especial usando el inglés.
1st Grade learned about Mardi Gras and made colorful masks.
1º de Primaria aprendió sobre Mardi Gras e hizo máscaras muy coloridas.
2nd Grade explored the animals that live in the swamps and made cool posters.
2º de Primaria exploró los animales que viven en los pantanos e hizo pósters muy chulos.
3rd Grade played games and made fun necklaces for Mardi Gras.
3º de Primaria jugó a juegos y creó collares divertidos para Mardi Gras.
4th Grade created their own food trucks and menus with tasty New Orleans food.
4º de Primaria diseñó sus propios camiones de comida y menús con platos típicos de Nueva Orleans.
5th Grade listened to jazz music and learned about musical instruments.
5º de Primaria escuchó música jazz y aprendió sobre instrumentos musicales.
6th Grade studied the Mississippi River and made travel brochures and maps.
6º de Primaria estudió el río Misisipi e hizo folletos de viaje y mapas.
Everyone worked hard, had fun, and used lots of English. Great job to all students and teachers!
