Yesterday, the 1st graders went on a very special field trip to the garden of our classmate Pablo. It was a fun and educational experience for everyone!
Ayer, los alumnos de 1° hicimos una excursión muy especial al huerto de nuestro compañero Pablo. ¡Fue una experiencia divertida y educativa para todos!
When we arrived, we explored the garden and discovered many different fruit trees. We learned to recognize apple, peach, flat peach, cherry, and plum trees. After identifying them, we placed signs with photos on each one to help us remember their names.
Cuando llegamos, exploramos el huerto y descubrimos muchos árboles frutales. Aprendimos a reconocer manzanos, melocotoneros, paraguayos, cerezos y ciruelos. Después de identificarlos, colocamos carteles con fotos en cada uno para ayudarnos a recordar sus nombres.
Later, we planted the lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and broad beans that we had been carefully growing in our classroom. It was finally time to transplant them into the garden, and we were very excited to see our hard work take root in real soil!
Más tarde, plantamos las lechugas, tomates, pepinos y habas que habíamos estado cuidando en clase con mucho cariño. ¡Por fin llegó el momento de trasplantarlas al huerto y estábamos muy emocionados de ver cómo nuestro trabajo echaba raíces en la tierra!
For our snack, we had a delicious treat: bread with olive oil and tomato. Yum – it was so tasty!
Para el almuerzo, tuvimos un delicioso manjar: pan con aceite y tomate. ¡Mmmm, estaba riquísimo!
We also got to visit the chicken coop and feed the hens some bread. It was great fun to see them up close!
También visitamos el gallinero y les dimos pan a las gallinas. ¡Fue muy divertido verlas de cerca!
It was a wonderful day full of nature, teamwork, and learning. We can’t wait for our plants to grow and to come back and visit them again!
Fue un día maravilloso, lleno de naturaleza, trabajo en equipo y aprendizaje. ¡Estamos deseando que crezcan nuestras plantas y poder volver a visitarlas!
