Today was an exciting day for our group of ten students who have just started their cooking elective at GSD International School Buitrago!
For the first time, they stepped into the school training kitchen, where they’ll be sharing the space with students from the Cooking Vocational Training Program. Under the guidance of their teacher Pablo, they will spend 2.5 hours every Monday (3 periods) developing practical culinary skills — 2 hours at the beginning of the day learning and preparing delicious dishes, and 30 minutes at the end to taste what they’ve made and help clean up the kitchen.
Wearing their aprons as part of their uniform, they looked every bit like real chefs! Some are still in the process of acquiring their aprons, but that didn’t stop them from getting involved and doing a fantastic job today.
Both the teacher and their vocational classmates were happy with their work, enthusiasm, and teamwork. It’s inspiring to see how much curiosity and joy they brought into the kitchen on this first day.
We’re proud of how they’ve started, and we’re sure that this elective will be a flavorful and unforgettable experience for them!
