Our 1st graders had a very special and fun experience this week: their very own grape harvest! They enjoyed the grapes grown right here at school and discovered a traditional way of making grape juice. It was a great opportunity to learn through a hands-on experience and enjoy a different kind of school day together.
Esta semana, nuestros alumnos de 1º de Primaria han vivido una experiencia muy especial y divertida: ¡su propia vendimia! Disfrutaron de las uvas cultivadas en nuestro propio colegio y descubrieron una forma tradicional de obtener su zumo. Fue una estupenda oportunidad para aprender a través de una experiencia práctica y disfrutar juntos de un día diferente en el cole.
And then came the most exciting part! After washing their feet carefully, the children took off their shoes and stepped into the grapes, just like people have traditionally done during the grape harvest. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and, of course, lots of grape juice!
¡Y después llegó la parte más emocionante! Después de lavarse muy bien los pies, los niños se descalzaron y pisaron las uvas, tal y como se ha hecho tradicionalmente durante la vendimia. Hubo muchas sonrisas, risas y, por supuesto, ¡mucho zumo de uva!
Beyond the fun, the activity was a wonderful way for our students to discover where grapes come from and how they can be transformed into juice. It also gave them the chance to enjoy nature, work together and experience something that they might not get to do every day.
Más allá de la diversión, la actividad fue una estupenda manera de descubrir de dónde vienen las uvas y cómo pueden transformarse en zumo. También les permitió disfrutar de la naturaleza, trabajar juntos y vivir una experiencia que no tienen la oportunidad de disfrutar todos los días.
And the fun didn’t end there! Our kitchen team washed and prepared the grapes that were left over, so that everyone in Primary could enjoy them during break time. It was the perfect way to make the most of our harvest and share the experience with the whole Primary school. What a delicious way to finish our grape harvest!
¡Y la diversión no terminó ahí! Nuestros compañeros de cocina lavaron y prepararon las uvas que sobraron para que todos los alumnos de Primaria pudiéramos degustarlas durante el recreo. Ha sido la manera perfecta de aprovechar nuestra vendimia y compartir esta experiencia con todo el alumnado de Primaria. ¡Qué manera tan deliciosa de poner el broche final a nuestra vendimia!
