A Creative Morning: Modern Art with Big and Small Artists.
Our school organized a very special activity. Students from 4º ESO joined the youngest children in Infantil for a morning of Modern Art. It was a wonderful experience where age didn’t matter, only creativity!
Working Together
The older students acted as mentors. They helped the little ones understand that art isn’t just about drawing something «perfect»—it is about expressing feelings and playing with colors.
We set up different stations in the playground:
- Action Painting: Inspired by Jackson Pollock, the students threw paint at large canvases on the floor.
- Abstract Shapes: Using scissors and colorful paper, they created collages like Henri Matisse.
- Finger Painting: The Infantil kids taught the 4º ESO students how to have fun without brushes!
What We Learned
This activity was more than just a painting lesson. The 4º ESO students learned how to be patient and how to explain difficult concepts in simple ways. Meanwhile, the Infantil children felt very proud to work with the «big kids.»
By the end of the day, our school was full of color. We hung the masterpieces in the main corridor to create our own Modern Art Gallery. It was a day of collaboration, smiles, and a lot of messy hands!
